Extracted from marine species (fish, ray…), these rare leathers offer a surprisingly refined texture. Perfect for original finishes on contemporary custom furniture.
Marine leathers, derived from the skins of fish such as salmon, Nile perch or skate, are still little-known to the general public, but are exceptional materials in the world of high-end cabinetmaking. At Eben&Or, we use them to create unique, bold and resolutely contemporary finishes.
Their nobility stems from their rarity and their specific tanning process, often vegetable, which respects the material while guaranteeing excellent resistance over time. Each skin has a unique natural pattern, similar to tortoiseshell or shagreen, which catches the light and catches the eye without ever becoming ostentatious.
These leathers are mainly used for trim: on drawers, furniture tops, or as wall veneers. Their distinctive texture lends an organic yet luxurious touch, ideal for sublimating custom-made furniture or creating an aesthetic break in a room.
Beyond their aesthetic appeal, marine leathers embody a sustainable approach to luxury: sourced from under-exploited resources, they enable noble materials to be ethically recycled. A rare finish, for creations like no other.
A unique creation always begins with an encounter.
